Winter Narative
Over the Christmas break I did many things of interest. My personal favorite was being able to eat without needing to make weight each week. While that was nice it wasn’t as interesting as my entertainment over break. I played a lot of video games during my free time. I spent my days with my brothers and Ty.
We played numerous types of games on a variety of consoles. Video games can be fun whenever, but they will get boring. Playing on 4 different types of consoles, with 3 TVs and numerous games makes it impossible to get bored. We had two PS2s, two Xbox 360s, an Xbox, and a computer. Ty and I would go to practice in the morning and head over to my house once it was over. We would wake my brothers up and then crash onto the couch. The four of us usually would spend the day killing each other on Gears of War 2 or Halo 3. As soon as we got bored of shooting at each other, we would change up the games and do something on our own. Whether it was playing “Rome: Total War” on the computer or “Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion” on the Xbox 360, we had enough consoles so each person could get his own system to play on. Some of my favorite games that we played were “Dynasty Tactics 2”, “Knights of the Old Republic”, “Gears of War 2”, “Halo 3”, “Final Fantasy X”, and “Civilization 4.” We did this from about the 26th until the 31st. We also played during the week before Christmas. The break truly was a nice break for all of us.
I know my brother have more free time than I do, but even they don’t have much. Every day I have at least an hour of homework, eight hours of school, two hours of practice and six hours of sleep. Usually it’s more like two or three hours of homework, three hours of practice, seven hours of sleep, and an hour in the morning before school. Considering that tournaments take up all day on Saturdays, I only have one day off per week. That leaves me two hours to do what I want, which is usually taken up working out, watching a little bit of TV, or sleeping more. I have very little free time so any extra is obviously appreciated. I won’t have this much free time again for quite a while.
